Overview

We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer to support a ServiceNow-oriented solution. The ServiceNow Developer will assist in the technical solution and development/implementation of applications, leveraging the modules and customization as necessary to ensure the required business outcomes are delivered. ServiceNow modules and a Custom App to migrate legacy applications to the ServiceNow platform. As a ServiceNow Developer, the successful candidate will have demonstrated experience working with the analysis, design, engineering, development, and implementation of software projects within the custom ServiceNow enterprise application suite, as well as have the ability to create implementation or integration approaches for applications and components.  

This position requires an active security clearance and on-site performance (Monday through Friday) in Rosslyn, VA.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Staying up to date on the latest processes and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems.  
  • Customize ServiceNow applications and facilitate roll-out of new applications and modules, and configure Application UI and Workflow.
  • Collaborate effectively with other ServiceNow administrators to develop solutions, handle general updates, configuration changes, and requests.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document software requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of tasks and assignments.
  • Identify system deficiencies and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure appropriate tools and processes are in place to have a development/production environment that is reliable and reproducible.
  • Ensure tool configuration consistency across development, stage, testing, sandbox, and production environments.
  • Participate in ongoing production support and end-user support.  
  • Collaboration with ServiceNow System Administration and key stakeholder teams to analyze and understand requirements, then transforming the requirements into a valid solution.
  • Will work closely with Scrum Masters, business, and IT teams to gather input to support ongoing business needs for ServiceNow configuration, implementation, and support.
  • Responsible for the design and build of ServiceNow Applications and integration to other applications and platforms, including architecture, languages, best practices, and methodologies in an Agile Scrum environment.
  • Provide strong development and project on-track and on-task, and collaborate on an ongoing project in both new development and enhancements between engineers, developers, analysts, and other team members.
  • Follow, maintain, and apply documentation best practice policies, procedures, and processes throughout ServiceNow development.
  • Review and apply any additional UI/UX requirements from the internal team and align with ServiceNow development.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines and deliver software solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.  
  • Employ best practices for version control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery (CI/CD).  
  • Responsible for the development of the post-MVP Application, including system configuration, development, unit testing, and technical documentation.
  • Additional responsibilities include code reviews and providing technical direction for other development resources.
  • Experience includes previous development in JavaScript, HTML, or other similar languages.
  • Proficient in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, or similar, with a strong ability to write clean and maintainable code.
  • Understanding of the software development life-cycle, from sprint initiation to deployment and maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to come on-site to the Rosslyn, VA office.
  • 7+ years of overall IT experience.
  • 3+ years in a ServiceNow developer role to support Low-Code/No-Code Development.
  • Good understanding of ServiceNow's architecture, data model, and core concepts.
  • Good understanding of ACLs.
  • Communicates effectively with a wide variety of audiences at all organizational levels.
  • Eliminates obstacles, gets results, and has a clear, positive, and direct impact on business performance.
  • Good problem solver and out-of-the-box thinker.
  • Experience performing ServiceNow analysis, architecture, and application development.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow components, such as Change Management, Service Catalog, Incident Management, Problem Management, Release Management, CMDB, CSM, Knowledge Management, Self-Service Portal, etc.
  • Prior experience participating in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), including analysis, design, coding, testing, and promotion into production.
  • Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, XML.

Education / Certifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • ServiceNow System Administration certifications (CSA).

Prefered Qualifications

  • ITIL v3 Foundations certified.
  • Advanced ITIL certifications.
  • ServiceNow Scripting experience.

Clearance Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.
